PRS Disclaimer for Dealer Referrals
Dealers that are referred to customers by PRS are independent entities that are not affiliated with PRS except that they have the right to market, sell and install PRS products. While every attempt is made by PRS to ensure that the dealer has the skills and knowledge to install the PRS products in an effective and reliable manner, the actual installation is always solely the responsibility of the dealer.
The dealer may choose to use only some or all of the PRS system and products, as they see appropriate for the situation at hand, and may also substitute their own flashing designs and roofing techniques where appropriate. The actual installation may be carried out by the dealer, the dealer’s employees or subcontractors, at the dealer discretion. It is up to the dealer, to ensure that techniques and methods used are appropriate to current practice and that all installers are able to carry out the installation in an appropriate manner.
Given that code requirements can differ from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, the installation guidelines as given by PRS must be properly interpreted by the installer in light of local codes, weather conditions, and building practices. In practice, there is almost always more than one way to achieve a given desired result and if the method chosen by the dealer is different from that described in PRS documentation or web-site, it does not immediately follow that this method is inadequate or inappropriate.
PRS urges each customer to obtain a written description of the work to be done by their dealer, and ensure that any specific points they wish to see in the final installation be noted or described in the written description.
Therefore, at no point is a referral of a dealer by PRS an endorsement or guarantee of the dealer’s ability to deliver an installation of a roofing system acceptable to the customer, nor is it assurance that the techniques and methods used are identical to those described by PRS on their website(s) and/or documentation. If having the PRS system and installation procedure important to you, please ensure that it is so clearly specified in any agreement you sign with your dealer and/or installer.
